retropie pico-8 on 1:1 lenovo monitor take 2

 Setting up retropie for my square monitor.

Problems:

- flashing screen on both batocera and rteropie images. solved by editing `/boot/config.txt` to include `hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=9` 

- add pico-8. needed to add the rpi version of the softwaree then update `/etc/emulationstation/es_systems.txt` with the following:

getting to `-draw_rect 0,0,800,600` took a bit of trial and error and I'm still not sure it's right because the monitor is 1:1 so why would it be that? but looks fullscreen now at least.

no sound in Papers Please

No sound at all, actually. First I installed alsa-utils, checked alsamixer master was not muted. Installed pulseaudio and pavucontrol. This gave me sound on youtube but not the game. Eventually found this tip in the hotline miami AUR comments: On x86_64 I had to install lib32-libpulse to get sound working. pdf to png/jpg/etc

Not often I learn something at work that I need to put on here. Anyway, imagemagick: convert -density 600 input_file.pdf output_file.png Gives me a lovely hi-def version of the image. Too hi, probs, but at least it's relatively easy to resize (down) once it's in the appropriate image format.

Crunchbang Changes

Added sftp://root@192.168.1.107/media shares  to ~/.gtk-bookmarks  to create a shortcut to pi media centre in the thunar sidebar (shortcut view only). Upon subsequent reboot that has disappeared, which I need to investigate. Added  KERNEL=="dm-*",ENV{UDISKS_PRESENTATION_HIDE}="1" to  /etc/udev/rules.d/99-dmapper-hide.rules to remove lvm partitions from the thunar sidebar. I was concerned that I'd have to comment this out and reboot if I wanted access to, say, my Arch install's home folder, but no fear: sudo lvdisplay /dev/linuxVG lists the lvm partitions (where lunuxVG is my volume group) sudo mount /dev/linuxVG/OS3-home /mnt/arch_home mounts the volume at a previously created directory. I also want to get rid of the unused Network shortcut, but the only way I've found so far involves recompiling thunar, which I can't be arsed with.
